Adult and teen acne treatment in Mustang, Oklahoma: how our 90-day program works
Acne is often talked about as a teenage problem, but plenty of our acne patients are in their thirties and forties. Whether you are a parent watching your teen lose confidence or an adult wondering why breakouts came back, the frustration is the same: you have tried the drugstore aisle, and it is not working. That is who we built our 90-day acne program for.
Why acne happens, at any age
Acne starts when a pore gets clogged with oil and dead skin cells. Bacteria that live on the skin multiply inside the clogged pore, and the body responds with inflammation. That is the red, sore bump you see in the mirror.
What sets the process off differs from person to person:
Teens: rising hormones increase oil production, often across the forehead, nose, and chin
Adults: hormonal shifts, stress, and some skin care or hair products are common triggers, and breakouts often show up along the jawline and chin
Everyone: over-scrubbing, picking, and harsh products that strip the skin tend to make things worse
Because the triggers differ, the plan should too. That is the idea behind starting with an evaluation instead of a product.
Why 90 days
Your skin renews itself roughly every four weeks. One facial or one new cleanser cannot show you much in that time. Three skin cycles can. Ninety days gives us enough time to calm active breakouts, see how your skin responds, adjust, and build a routine you can keep up afterward.
What the program includes
A one-on-one health and skin evaluation. Tanja Pittman, DNP, APRN, CNP looks at your skin, your health history, your current products, and your routine, then builds a plan around what she finds.
Three HydraFacial treatments designed for acne-prone skin, one every 30 days. Each treatment deep cleans, gently exfoliates, clears congested pores, and hydrates without stripping the skin.
LED light therapy with every treatment. Light therapy is used to target acne-causing bacteria and calm inflammation. It is painless and takes about 20 minutes.
Ongoing education. You will learn what to use, what to stop using, and why. For teens especially, understanding the reason behind a routine is what makes it stick.
Close monitoring and follow-up. Tanja checks your progress through the full 90 days and adjusts the plan as your skin changes.
The program starts at $600. Epionce medical-grade skin care will be recommended for home use, and those products are an additional cost.
What to expect along the way
Most people notice that skin feels cleaner and looks calmer after the first treatment. Clearing takes longer. It is normal for improvement to be gradual, and some people see a brief flare early on as congestion works its way out. Consistency with your home routine between visits matters as much as the treatments themselves. Results vary from person to person, and we will be honest with you about what is realistic for your skin.
A note for parents
Teens are welcome in the program with a parent or guardian. Visits are private and unhurried, and Tanja speaks to teens directly and respectfully, because a teen who understands the plan is far more likely to follow it. Acne can take a real toll on confidence at that age, and getting ahead of it can also reduce the chance of lasting marks.
When acne needs a different level of care
Some acne, especially deep, painful cysts or acne that is already leaving scars, may need prescription treatment. Part of your evaluation is determining whether this program is the right fit. If it is not, Tanja will tell you and point you toward the care that is.
