Botox in Mustang OK: What to Expect at Your First Appointment
Botox is the most popular cosmetic treatment in the world — and for good reason. When administered correctly by a qualified medical professional, Botox delivers natural-looking results that smooth lines, refresh your appearance, and boost your confidence. If you are considering Botox at a Mustang, Oklahoma med spa, here is everything you need to know before your first appointment.
WHY PROVIDER QUALIFICATIONS MATTER FOR BOTOX
Not all Botox providers are equal. Botox is a prescription medication that should only be administered by qualified medical professionals — physicians, nurse practitioners, or physician assistants with specialized aesthetic training and appropriate licensure.
At The Aesthetics Place MedSpa in Mustang, Oklahoma, Botox is administered by Tanja Pittman DNP, APRN — a Doctor of Nursing Practice with extensive aesthetic medicine training. Tanja's medical background and aesthetic expertise mean you are getting Botox from someone who deeply understands facial anatomy, injection technique, and how to achieve natural results that enhance your features rather than alter them.
HOW BOTOX WORKS
Botox, which is botulinum toxin type A, is a purified protein that temporarily relaxes the muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles — the lines that form when you smile, squint, frown, or raise your eyebrows. When injected into targeted muscles, Botox blocks the nerve signals that cause muscle contractions, allowing the overlying skin to smooth out naturally.
Botox does not affect your ability to make facial expressions when administered properly — it simply softens the intensity of muscle movement in the treated areas, resulting in a more relaxed and refreshed appearance.
COMMON BOTOX TREATMENT AREAS
Forehead lines — horizontal lines that appear when you raise your eyebrows.
Glabellar lines, also called the 11s — the vertical lines between your eyebrows that appear when you frown.
Crow's feet — the lines at the outer corners of your eyes.
Bunny lines — the lines on your nose when you scrunch it.
Lip lines — vertical lines around the mouth.
Chin dimpling — textured or pebbled chin appearance.
Neck bands — the vertical bands that appear on the neck with age.
Brow lifting — a subtle lift of the brow arch to open up the eyes.
WHAT HAPPENS AT YOUR FIRST BOTOX APPOINTMENT AT TAP MEDSPA
Consultation. Before any treatment begins, Tanja will conduct a thorough consultation that includes your free Optic Elite Skin Analysis — a $100 value included with every new client consultation at TAP MedSpa. She will review your aesthetic goals, assess your facial anatomy, discuss your medical history, and create a personalized treatment plan tailored specifically to your needs.
Treatment. Botox injections are performed with a very fine needle. Most clients describe the sensation as a small pinch. A typical full-face treatment takes between 10 and 20 minutes. No anesthesia is required, though topical numbing cream is available if you prefer a more comfortable experience.
Aftercare. After your Botox appointment you should avoid touching or rubbing the treated areas for four hours, stay upright for four hours after treatment, avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours, avoid alcohol for 24 hours, and avoid facials or massages near the treated area for two weeks.
Results. Botox results begin to appear within three to five days and reach their full effect at two weeks. Results typically last three to four months, though many clients find their results last longer with regular treatments as the treated muscles become conditioned over time.
HOW MUCH DOES BOTOX COST IN MUSTANG OK?
Botox is typically priced per unit. The number of units needed varies by the area being treated and individual factors including muscle strength and facial anatomy. During your free consultation at TAP MedSpa, Tanja will give you a clear, honest estimate of the units and cost for your personalized treatment plan with no surprises.
IS BOTOX RIGHT FOR YOU?
Botox is appropriate for most healthy adults who want to address dynamic wrinkles and achieve a refreshed, natural appearance. It is not appropriate for pregnant or breastfeeding women, people with certain neurological conditions, or those with known allergies to botulinum toxin products.
